It turns out we have to learn a thing or two about ebuilds! Luckily, murraytony pointed us on the mistake we made in the latest lila-kde ebuild that caused the 0.7.2-r1 updated ebuild not really updating your icons. The lila-kde package and ebuild has version 0.7.3 now.

Release Notes :: 2005-02-14

There has been some work on the gnome-icons in the last months so it time for an update!

Updated packages:

• lila-gnome-0.6.3 :: There have been a lot of icons added again thanks to the effort of the people submitting icons. For a list of changes you can view the Changelog. Also many more icons that still contained the fill opacity bug have been fixed in this release.
• lila-gtk-0.5.5 :: Some icons for the terminal emulator Terminal have been added. Also support for Xfmedia, Balsa and gmpc has been added.
• lila-backgrounds-0.3.4 :: Some color fixes to make them work with svg-utils.
• lila-kde-0.7.2-r1 :: See previous news post.

Thanks to jpetso, who took the job of maintaining the KDE icon set, we now updated the KDE icons. He added lots of new icons from the gnome theme and also moved some things around. For a complete overview of the changes, have a look at the Changelog.

You can download and test the updated set and the ebuild here. Please report any problems in the forums.

Jpetso also made the request for some new icons the KDE theme still lacks. So if you feel you need to showcase your graphical skills, take a look at the list of icons that are needed and submit your creations to the icon submission topic.

EDIT: jpetso himself already found some bugs and fixed them right away! The package available through the download page has therefore been updated to bugfix release 0.7.2-r1 which also contains a few new icons.

Finally, thanks to one of our frequent forum visitors, Garrett fixed the bug that caused Firefox with the Lila Firefox GTK+ theme to crash when right clicking on an item in the downloads list.

It's been quite a while since the last release, but we have all been a bit busy :) I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this release and helped to enlarge and improve Lila.

New packages:

• lila-cursors-0.5 :: Pinux created a beautiful cursor theme for Lila. In this package included are the purple, white and black (dark purple) versions. The complete set with more colors is available at GNOME-Look.org. Please also see the corresponding thread on the forums.

Updated packages:

• lila-firefox-1.7 :: Brian Carper updated his great Firefox theme. It now works flawlessly with Firefox 1.0.
• lila-firefox-gtk-0.5.7 :: Synced with the latest version of Garret LeSage's Industrial for Firefox theme.
• lila-gdm-0.3.4 :: Added the nice GDM Theme by Dvornik. It can also be found on GNOME-Look.org.
• lila-gnome-0.6.2 :: Lots of submitted icons have been added. Most notably the icons for Xfce. The Inkscape fill opacity bug in many of our icons has been fixed.
• lila-gtk-0.5.4 :: Updated to reflect changes in the GNOME icon set.
• lila-gtk-extras-0.4.5 :: Updated to reflect changes in the GNOME icon set

The 'lila-gtk' and 'lila-gtk-extras' packages have been updated to properly show the Lila icons in gVim. Thanks to andrewski for fixing this issue.

Edit: The new overlay is added now. It has been packaged by 9-speed and he will also provide the overlays in the future, so you ought to fetch his GPG key. See the documentation for details on how to do that.

Garrett LeSage released an update for his Industrial for Firefox theme. As the Lila Firefox GTK+ theme is just a copy of that theme with Lila icons, we updated too!

Release Notes :: 2004-10-17

This is a minor release with some improvements and bugfixes.

New packages:

• svg-utils-0.1 :: The overlay now contains an ebuild for SVG-Utils with which one can easily change colors of SVG icons.

Updated packages:

• lila-firefox-gtk-0.4.2 :: Merged with latest version Industrial Firefox theme.
• lila-gnome-0.6.1 :: Adds a couple of new icons. Quite a few have been edited, mostly to rectify colors.
• lila-gtk-0.5.1 :: GTK+ part of the themes have been unified and improved (based on Glider).
• lila-xfwm-0.3.2 :: A titlebar bug has been fixed. See this topic on the forums for more information.

As the old Lila Firefox theme did not work with the 1.0 Firefox release we created a new Lila theme for Firefox. This new theme works very well for Lila-Industrial GTK+ theme users as it is based on the Industrial for Firefox theme by Garrett LeSage. But it takes some of your current GTK+ theme settings, so it looks good for other GTK+ themes as well.

Release Notes :: 2004-09-20

With today's release some changes have taken place. Most noticeably is the drop of our color mods. This decision has been made because of lack of time and developers. It is left to the users to create their own color mods with any colors the wish. This can be achieved best with SVG-Utils. Documentation and utilities can be found on Daniel G. Taylor's website.

There have also been a few name changes in an attempt to unify things. The eclass and the predigested overlays are now called “lila-theme” instead of “lila-artwork”. Furthermore, “lila-xfwm4” is now called “lila-xfwm” and “lila-xfce4-panel” is “lila-xfce-panel”.

Because of these name changes, it is adviseable to unmerge any installed Lila packages and to clean out your portdir_overlay directory before using the new overlay and ebuilds.

Following is a list of new and updated packages with a short summary each.

New packages:

• lila-gensplash-0.1 :: Modified version of the bootsplash package to make it work with the increasingly popular splashutils.

Updated packages:

• lila-backgrounds-0.3.3 :: The images from the dropped green version have been converted to purple.
• lila-bootsplash-0.2.1 :: Minor update to reflect name changes caused by the drop of the color mods.
• lila-gdm-0.3.3 :: Minor update of the themes to unify things and make maintainance easier.
• lila-gnome-0.6 :: Fairly large icon update. Many icons have been edited. Some cleanup and rectifications as well.
• lila-gtk-0.5 :: Major overhaul of the package. Now sporting two completely new themes called GorLila and Simply Lila.
• lila-gtk-extras-0.4.2 :: Small update to reflect the changes made in the icon set.
• lila-smilies-0.34 :: Overhaul of the package. All smilies have been updated.

Edit: There has been a glitch in lila-xfce-panel and lila-xfwm. It's fixed and new tarballs are uploaded. In case you already fetched the overlay and intend to use those themes please download it again.

A new snapshot is available. It fixes the digest/download problem with lila-gnome-0.5.1. It also includes lila-backgrounds-0.3.2 which fixes a glitch in lila-round and has gentoo-round removed.
